Starbase War Room 16 prims Radar 9 prims What do you do when a nearby planet declares war on you? Suppose a fleet of hostile spacecraft materialise on the fringes of your control zone and begin to approach your base? Or what about those alien predators, swarming through the starbase corridors taking everyone prisoner? Gather your senior crew together and head for the War Room to coordinate your defences and organise your counter attack! Use the 3D radar to watch the movements of all the avatars in the space around you from the safety of the War Room. Features include:
The War Room is a highly fortified central control room that can be isolated from the rest of the starbase. It contains a 3D radar system that can display the location of every avatar in range. It also has a 2D base showing the map of the sim surface below you. It has four multi-posed tech chairs where you and your team can sit and watch the approach of the enemy fleet, while considering your strategies. Embedded in the radar base is a reference map of the sim surface. It will display the layout of the current sim, and can be refreshed by touching it. There's a large viewing porthole on the end wall, but there's also a pair of internal protective blast doors that, when touched, will slowly slide across to close up all access to the War Room, effectively sealing it shut and isolating it from the rest of the starbase. The external surface has a pair of side receptor panels and on the top is a rotating radar cluster for mission-critical communication with the rest of the base. 3-D Avatar Detection System The 3D radar, the sim map, the four seats and the topside radar assembly are all mesh and installed at a touch using the Magno-Bolt magnetic plates. The land impact is only 9 prims for the entire set. You can start and stop the radar assembly from rotating bit by touching it. | 3D-Radar Avatar Detection System features: - Sim-wide 256m x 256m x 256m scan range - very low lag - no sensors needed - Color-coded scan balls appear in 3D space - Avatar name & location displayed in hover text - Automatic calibration The 3D radar sphere represents the 3D space of the sim you are in. You will see small points of light representing avatars detected by the radar. These colored scan balls show the locations of all the avatars in the sim that are within range. The avatar's name will be displayed next to the scan balls. You can watch them as they close in on your base or pass by on their way. Although the radar display is spherical, it also covers all 8 corners of a 256m cubic space, so scan balls may sometimes appear to move outside the sphere. To Use: Touch the large green sphere to start the system. The radar will scan the area and show tiny pulsing colored scan balls for all avatars within range. The scan balls are positioned in the 3D space inside the sphere. The balls will move when the avatars move. The center of the radar sphere represents 128,128, xxx, where xxx is the War Room's vertical height. The WHITE scan ball shows the location of the radar sphere in the sim (it doesn't have be in the centre). Scan balls will be rezzed only for avatars that are within 128m of the height of the radar sphere. The scan balls show as GREEN if an avatar is 20m or closer, YELLOW if it's between 20m and 100m and RED if it's beyond 100m. Scan balls will derez automatically when avatars move outside of radar range. Scan balls are auto scaled to 1% of the size of the sphere. You can even put scaled models in the sphere to represent objects that are within the coverage area. Use the grid texture and the white scan ball as guides. Touch the sphere to turn the 3D radar system off, before relocating the system to prevent it from leaving unwanted tiny scan balls behind. However, it'll rez itself some new ones when it's switched on, anyway. Thanks go to Jesse Barnett for the original 3D scan script from which this one was derived. |
